He is skilled at modifying the original chords into a jazz style, and also excels at quoting or parodying famous past songs and performances. For example, the slow blues-style intro of "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" dramatically transforms the original, but his sense of taste ensures it never feels like an unreasonable arrangement. In medium-tempo songs like "Jingle Bells" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," Tatsuji Yokoyama’s Latin percussion adds a spicy flavor with an exquisite touch.
