About Mecha:
Mecha refers to the smallest part of the new shoots, which curl into small granules during tea processing. These small granules are packed with the mellow umami of high-grade Gyokuro. As the curled mecha gradually unfurl in hot water, the umami is preserved until the leaves are fully opened from the second infusion onwards. This tea has a high flavor persistence and is very economical as it can be brewed multiple times.
How to Brew:
Place one tea bag in a teapot and pour hot water from a kettle. Steep for about 40 seconds, depending on your preference, then quickly pour into cups.
*Can also be enjoyed with a pot.
Cold Brew:
Place the tea bag and fresh water in a pot. (Depending on preference, 1 pack per 500ml to 1000ml of water). Chill in the refrigerator for about 2 hours before serving.
