However, with a SeeQVault-compatible hard disk, recorded programs can be transferred and viewed on different TVs or recorders. Limited to devices of the same manufacturer. When using a SeeQVault-compatible external HDD with a Blu-ray recorder, the external HDD cannot directly record TV programs. Instead, programs must first be recorded on the recorder's internal HDD, then transferred (dubbing) to the SeeQVault-compatible HDD. This is only possible if the TV/recorder used for recording or dubbing supports SeeQVault. The SeeQVault-compatible hard disk must be formatted and initialized with the SeeQVault method. Playback is not possible if the connected TV/recorder is from a different manufacturer than the one originally connected.
