BABYMETAL PROFILEYouTubeで公開されたミュージックビデオに海外からのアクセスが殺到し、その存在は日本だけでなく、北米、南米、ヨーロッパ、アジアなど海外にも届くことに。2012年8月には「SUMMER SONIC 2012」に最年少アーティストとして出演。2013年1月にリリースしたメジャーデビューシングル「イジメ、ダメ、ゼッタイ」、6月にリリースした2ndシングル「メギツネ」が2作連続でオリコンチャートTOP10入りを果たす。2013年夏~秋には「SUMMER SONIC 2013」「ROCK IN JAPAN FES.2013」「LOUD PARK 13」など多数の大型フェスに出演し圧倒的なパフォーマンスを披露。「SUMMER SONIC 2013」ではヘッドライナーアクトのメタリカがステージを観に訪れるなど、ロックファンのみならずアーティストからの注目度も高まっている。2014年3月には日本武道館ワンマンライブ2DAYSを行いチケットはSOLD OUT、武道館単独公演を行った女性アーティスト最年少記録を更新した。さらに2月にリリースしたファーストアルバム「BABYMETAL」が、全米ビルボード総合チャートにランクインし、坂本九など総合チャートにランクインした数少ない日本人アーティストの中で最年少記録を更新。2014年7月~8月には初のヨーロッパ&アメリカツアーを行い、イギリスの大型フェス「Sonisphere」ではメインステージに登場し6万5千人の観衆を集め、アメリカではLADY GAGAの全米ツアーのサポートアクトに抜擢されアメリカ5公演を行った。日本を越えて、海外でも名実ともに注目を集めているBABYMETALの“メタルレジスタンス"は急速に拡大している。
