Detailed Description
Rare live recording of Bill Evans from 1966.After losing the genius bassist Scott LaFaro in a traffic accident in 1961 and subsequently feeling like he was searching for a replacement in a state of heartbreak, Bill Evans met Eddie Gomez in 1966. The recording captures the European tour immediately after Gomez joined, titled "Live '66 ~ Nordic Leaves" (SCOL-4015). The sense of fulfillment gained over five years must have been immense. The famous performance of "Autumn Leaves" from the LaFaro era also reflects these feelings. (The Walker’s Masayuki Kase)
