The 5-minute anime "Little Charo," which has received a great response with its cute characters and useful conversational expressions, is now available on DVD for the first time! This DVD series will sequentially release all 50 episodes of the anime portion of the NHK Educational TV language program "Little Charo: English Conversation that Soaks into Your Body," which began airing in March of this year. Each volume contains 10 episodes, for a total of 5 volumes. The original story is by Waki Kyo, who demonstrates multi-talented abilities as a director, scriptwriter, actor, and essayist. Risa Junna, an actress fluent in English, plays the protagonist Charo. As you become engrossed in the story, simple yet natural English expressions will naturally soak into your body.
Charo is a puppy born in Japan. Abandoned shortly after birth, he was found dying of hunger and cold by an 8-year-old boy named Shota. Saved by Shota, Charo becomes best friends with him. Later, Shota takes Charo on a trip to New York, USA. However, due to some mistake, they get separated at the New York airport. Left alone (or rather, alone as a dog) in a foreign metropolis, Charo's great adventure begins with the dream of "I want to go back to Japan someday and see Shota!"
