Starring Hana Sugisaki!
A groundbreaking medical human drama featuring an unprecedented protagonist: a “brain surgeon with memory impairment” who wholeheartedly saves her patients and regenerates herself!

★ Hana Sugisaki as the “brain surgeon with memory impairment”!
Playing a brain surgeon who, despite inner conflict, strives to save her patients!
Sugisaki plays Miyabi Kawanouchi, a brain surgeon who suffered brain damage in an accident and now bears severe aftereffects. She has no memory of the past two years and forgets everything that happened today by tomorrow. Because of this, Miyabi was about to give up being a doctor, but then a peculiar neurosurgeon, Tomoharu Sanpei, appears.
His blunt, forceful, and laid-back manner without reading the atmosphere helps Miyabi both as a doctor and as a patient, guiding her.
Eventually, the mystery hidden within Miyabi’s “lost two years of memory” is revealed.
The big secret within Miyabi’s inaccessible memories… and her “true feelings.”

★ Based on the popular manga of the same name serialized in “Morning”!
Authored by a former neurosurgeon, offering a realistic portrayal of the world of neurosurgery!
The original work is “Unmet - A Neurosurgeon’s Diary -,” serialized in Kodansha’s “Morning” magazine (original: Yuzuru Koshika / manga: Hitoshi Otsuki).
The author, Yuzuru Koshika, is a former neurosurgeon.
Therefore, the various cases and the lives of the doctors depicted in the story are portrayed with realism, earning high praise from medical professionals and others across various fields.
In this drama adaptation, the appeal of the original work is preserved, and the complex world of neurosurgery and the lives of those involved are carefully depicted.

★ Yūya Wakaba, who garnered attention with his outstanding performance as Dr. Sanpei!
In Episode 1, Miyabi, a neurosurgeon who lost her memory of the past two years due to aftereffects of an accident, and whose daily memories are reset every day, meets Tomoharu Sanpei, a neurosurgeon returning from America, and gradually begins to regain her sense of self as a doctor.
When the broadcast started, "#Unmet" became the top trending hashtag worldwide on X (formerly Twitter).
Viewers expressed:
- “Isn’t too much talent gathered?”
- “Such emotion in the first episode…”
- “It’s a masterpiece I watched live after a long time.”
- “I cried so much I was out of breath.”
- “More captivating than I expected.”
Many viewers were drawn into the world of “Unmet.”
Additionally, praise continued for Ryuya Wakaba’s performance as Sanpei, with related words like “Wakaba Ryuya” and “Dr. Sanpei” trending.

★ The best team supporting Miyabi
Including Yuudai Chiba, who gently supports Miyabi’s return to neurosurgery in a different way from Sanpei, playing the compassionate Emergency Department Head Hoshima, along with Nurse Manager Tsubata (Michiko Kichise), Anesthesiologist Narimasu (Kayo Noro), Nurses Mori (Kanon Yamatani) and Koharu (Riko Nakamura), Resident Kaze (Takumi Ozaki (INI)), and others at Hilltop Central Hospital, who support and warmly watch over Miyabi’s journey.

**Story**
Am I still a doctor?
Every morning, Miyabi Kawanouchi, a brain surgeon with memory impairment, wakes up to find her memories from the previous day erased, relying only on her diary records.
Can she face her patients again as a doctor?

One and a half years ago, Miyabi suffered brain damage in an accident, losing all memories of the past two years, with new memories only lasting a day—she forgets everything upon waking.
She starts each day by waking at 5 a.m., reading her diary, and relearning her lost memories.
Currently, she is working as a nurse assistant at Hilltop Central Hospital, while receiving treatment from Koichi Osako, a professor of neurosurgery at Kanto Medical University Hospital.
She does not perform any medical procedures but supports her colleagues.

One day, a new neurosurgeon returning from America, Tomoharu Sanpei, arrives.
While Miyabi shows him around the hospital, an emergency patient is brought in.
The patient is actress Rena Akamine, diagnosed with a stroke.
With her husband and manager Hiroshi Emoto’s consent, immediate treatment is scheduled.
Sanpei instructs Miyabi to assist, but Nurse Manager Reiko Tsubata (Michiko Kichise) stops him.
After treatment, Miyabi learns from Emergency Department Head Kohta Hoshima (Yudai Chiba) that Miyabi has memory impairment.

Rena wakes up but can hardly speak, diagnosed with aphasia due to aftereffects.
Miyabi, witnessing her despair as an actress, struggles with her own helplessness.
Sanpei, knowing about Miyabi’s memory issues, bluntly states, “We’re short-staffed, so you need to do what you can,” and directly asks the hospital director, Toshiyuki Toudou (Junpei Yasui), to let Miyabi examine and diagnose patients as a doctor.
