【Biography】
Yuji Ohno & Lupintic Five: Yuji Ohno (p), Yosuke Inoue (b), Yoshito Eto (dr), Hiroyuki Matsushima (tp), Masashi Suzuki (sax), Satoshi Izumi (g)
The popular series "LUPIN THE THIRD "JAZZ"" which has played a significant role in spreading the joy and depth of jazz to the world, celebrated its 10th work with "LUPIN THE THIRD "JAZZ" the 10th~ New Flight~" (released in April 2006), formed as a sextet.
Centered around the music of "Lupin the Third," their first album's cool and hot performances received great acclaim in sales and audience numbers during the tour.
Subsequently, the band became more active, releasing soundtracks for Lupin the Third TV specials centered on this lineup in September 2006 and August 2007, and in November 2007, released "What’s Going On," their second original album, featuring jazz arrangements from soulful numbers to Lupin the Third theme, followed by a nationwide tour.
In April 2008, they released the soundtrack for the new original DVD "LUPIN THE THIRD "GREEN vs RED"" commemorating the 40th anniversary of Lupin the Third, and on August 27, the soundtrack for the TV special "sweet lost night" under the name Yuji Ohno & Lupintic Five with Friends.
At the RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2008 in EZO, they delivered a powerful performance that overwhelmed the audience, unthinkable for a jazz band.
In 2009, they released "Feeling Good" featuring guest vocalist Miki Imai from the Lupintic Label founded by Ohno.
Their latest work is the self-cover album "LUPIN THE THIRD ~ the Last Job ~" released in February, followed by the independent project "Lupintic Night" in April.
