Electronic duo Lavender releases their debut album! The acclaimed electronic duo Lavender, consisting of Oskar Rice and Adam Jackson, has been featured on RinseFM, WorldwideFM, and other platforms. Inspired by the question, "What if Bon Iver had been produced by JDilla?" they began their journey, culminating in the eagerly awaited debut album, *we’rehavingabarndance*.
*we’rehavingabarndance* is, literally and metaphorically, a "journey of discovery" that spans over a year. The journey began at a French farm and continued to a studio behind Lidl in Riddler, London. Adam explains, "This album feels like a 'journey' to me. During the production process, I was obsessed with the multifaceted concept of 'home.' It starts with departure, searching for 'home,' and then trying to return. Interestingly, I spent most of the album-making period couchsurfing, moving between several 'homes.' Oskar and I allowed each other to use this joint project as a 'personal outlet.' The process was deeply intertwined with self-confrontation, and I felt a healing I had never experienced through music before."
Oskar adds, "We had a big discussion about what this album means to us. The conclusion was that 'this is an album about love.' However, it’s not necessarily romantic love. It also explores the emotional struggle of loving something while sometimes being prevented from loving something else."
*we’rehavingabarndance* is a work that successfully achieves and even surpasses their own goals. Their ambition is evident both in the production sound and from a songwriter’s perspective, reflecting their growing confidence in the future.
