《Awata-guchi Kiyonobu》Descended from the lineage of Kyoto Awata-guchi swordsmiths and Sanjo Kaji Munetsugu. The master craftsman Sanjo Kaji Munetsugu was responsible for the national treasure "Mikazuki Munetsugu" and is enshrined at the auxiliary shrine "Kaji Shrine" within Awata Shrine, located in the Awata area.Following the Sword Abolition Edict, the family transitioned to crafting ornamental armor utilizing their honed metalworking techniques. The armor of Awata-guchi Kiyonobu is characterized by its meticulous, entirely handmade craftsmanship.In 1989, Kiyonobu was certified as a Traditional Craftsman by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. In 2001, he received the "Kyoto Master Craftsman" award for outstanding technical skills in Kyoto's traditional industries.A leading master craftsman in the Kyoto armor industry, with a distinguished record of achievements in numerous competitions.
