This is a shoehorn made from natural zelkova wood by a craftsman of "Takefu Tangoku Sashimono," a craft designated by Fukui Prefecture. The traditional techniques of "Osaka Tangoku Sashimono," a traditional craft, have been passed down in Echizen City. (Includes a stand to store the shoehorn.) This item was created based on a customer's request. In response to the request for a slightly darker (blackish) finish, instead of urethane varnish or oil finishing, the wood was colored with "ohaguro" using the techniques and methods of Osaka Tangoku Sashimono, and then finished with natural raw lacquer rubbing and wiping lacquer.
This shoehorn is a convenient size that allows you to reach your shoes without bending over too much.
