■ What is "Kukon no Kuon"
"Kukon no Kuon (Kukon no Kuon)" is a 2D side-scrolling action game where a cat "Kukon," who has died in the mortal world and awakened in the underworld, returns to the mortal world where its owner awaits, by traversing the harsh underworld.

Players control the cat Kukon and embark on a journey to explore the vast underworld, searching for a way to open the "Gate of the Underworld" that connects to the mortal world.
During this journey, they encounter the unique environment of the underworld, the yokai demons that inhabit it, and yokai beastmen who share the same plight as Kukon.
Although Kukon is just a fragile cat and dies easily when attacked by enemies, it can revive using a special ability called "Animal Revival," which absorbs animal spirits and gains new skills, allowing it to bravely face challenges.

Depending on the choices made by the player walking the journey with Kukon, the story will have various endings.
Please engrain the ending of the fantasy tale of death and reincarnation spun by Kukon into your "soul".

Illness, injury, old age...
Any reason for death could be possible.
Because life is weak and easily lost.

The cat was living with a human.
The "owner" probably mourned the cat’s death.
They may have built a grave and mourned it respectfully,
or returned the ashes to nature.

Or perhaps, without knowing the death directly,
they continue to wait for the cat that will never return.

Whatever the circumstances, reasons, or intentions—
the cat has died.

The cat, Kukon, who died in the mortal world and fell into the underworld, awakens.
And, aiming to return to the mortal world where its owner waits,
it begins to walk toward the only exit, the "Gate of the Underworld."

Kukon will lose its life if it takes even a single hit.
However, by reviving with "Animal Revival," which absorbs animal spirits, Kukon acquires animal skills and becomes increasingly easier to survive.
Eventually, it will transform into a "Demon Form (Humanoid type)," becoming stronger, but...
As the proverb says, "Cats have nine lives," Kukon can only revive nine times.
