**About the Kyoto Ippitsu Ryu artist / Keisuke Teshima:**Since childhood, he has been fascinated by dragons and has continued to draw dragon images.Having studied the spirit of Japanese martial arts through 14 years of karate from age 6, he was deeply influenced by the traditional "Ippitsu Ryu" technique.He was profoundly impressed by its history and method, feeling it was his destiny, and learned the technique through self-study.While preserving the tradition of the Ippitsu Ryu passed down since the Edo period, he pursues the art with the spirit of "Shuhari" (learning, detaching, and transcending).He is one of only three known Ippitsu Ryu artists in Japan.Originally from Fukuoka Prefecture, he was guided by fortunate and inevitable encounters to establish his atelier in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto—a city with a 1,000-year history where dragons are believed to dwell.
