Railway Collection Vol. 31
Kintetsu 6600 series 2-car set
Kintetsu, known as Japan's largest private railway, operates a vast network from the Kansai to the Chubu regions.
The 1420 series is a commuter train operated by Kintetsu, manufactured in 1984 as the first-generation 1250 series.
Later, in 1986, its classification was changed to the 1251 series, and finally, in 1990, it was reclassified again to the 1420 series, which it remains to this day.
It was also Kintetsu's first VVVF inverter control train, and it was the world's first for a 1500V railway line to be equipped with a VVVF inverter control device using GTO thyristors with a withstand voltage of 4500V and a current of 2000A.
These GTO thyristor elements became the standard for subsequent railway inverter control devices, and a nameplate indicating it was a VVVF inverter control car was attached to the side of the car body.
The box was opened to confirm the contents, but the product itself is new and unused.
