About the Fabric:
Uses vibrant kimono and obi fabrics from the Showa era, including rare materials and weaves that are now discontinued. The patterns include auspicious floral motifs, birds, gold thread embroidery, and Nishijin weaving, collected from all over Japan. Due to the high-quality raw materials, this product is only possible as a remade, used, and upcycled item.

About the Sewing:
Manufactured in Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan’s largest bag production area. Crafted by skilled bag artisans at companies that sell bag materials and have their own YKK zipper factories. Pattern placement, orientation, and the front/back of the obi tie are decided in Tokyo. The fabric is then cut using custom molds created at a dedicated factory, and sewn accordingly.

Kimono and obi fabrics are often embroidered or woven with varying thicknesses and textures, making sewing challenging even for experienced artisans. The traditional craftsmanship of Yagi baskets, originating from the willow craft mentioned in the Kojiki, has been passed down for over a thousand years, ensuring strict quality control.

Notes for Purchase:
Fabric: The kimono, obi, and obi ties used are previously worn or stored items. They may have creases, small stains, dirt, scratches, or deterioration. While efforts are made to exclude these, some may remain. Please understand that this product is a recycled, upcycled item from older materials.

Color:
While every effort is made to display accurate colors, differences may occur between the photos and the actual product due to monitor settings on computers or mobile devices. Please understand this in advance.

Size:
Cut uniformly with molds and sewn by skilled artisans, but since each kimono and obi varies in thickness and embroidery, some sizes may be slightly smaller or have minor discrepancies. Your understanding is appreciated.

Handling Instructions:
The kimono, obi, and obi ties are presumed to be silk, but due to their used nature, this cannot be guaranteed. (The Consumer Affairs Agency states there is no obligation to specify this on the product.) Please wash with silk-specific detergent or consult a professional kimono cleaning service.
