About the Fabric:Uses vibrant kimono and obi fabrics that were worn on celebratory days in the Showa era. Some materials and weaves are rare and have already ceased production. The patterns include auspicious floral motifs, birds, gold thread embroidery, and Nishijin weaving, collected from all over Japan.
Because of the high-quality raw materials, this product is only possible as a remade, used, and upcycled item.
About the Sewing:Manufactured in Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, the largest bag production area in the country. Crafted by skilled bag artisans at companies that sell materials for bags and have their own YKK zippers.
Pattern placement, orientation, and the front/back of the obi are directed in Tokyo. Subsequently, molds are produced at a factory that creates the cutting dies, which are then used to cut the fabric and sew the bag.
Kimono and obi fabrics feature embroidery and weaving, each with unique thickness and texture, often with uneven surfaces, making sewing challenging even for experienced artisans.
In Toyooka, traditional techniques from the "Kiji" basketry described in the Kojiki, made from willow branches, have been passed down. Under strict quality control cultivated over a thousand years of tradition, production is carried out with care.
Precautions for Purchase:Fabric: The kimono, obi, and obi cords used are previously worn or stored items. As a result, there may be creases, small stains, dirt, scratches, or deterioration. While efforts are made to exclude these, some may remain. Please understand that this product is a recycled, upcycled item from older materials.

Size: Although cut uniformly with molds and sewn by skilled artisans, the thickness of each kimono and obi varies, and embroidery or thicker obi may cause slight size discrepancies. Please understand this in advance.
Handling: The kimono, obi, and cords are presumed to be silk, but due to their used condition, this cannot be guaranteed. (The Consumer Affairs Agency states that there is no obligation to specify this on the product.) We recommend washing with a silk-specific detergent or consulting a professional kimono cleaner.
