About the Fabric:
The fabric is made from vibrant kimono and obi textiles used on festive days during the Showa era. Some materials and weaves are rare and have been discontinued. The patterns include auspicious floral motifs, birds, gold thread embroidery, and Nishijin weaving, sourced from all over Japan. Due to the high-quality raw materials, this product is only possible as a remade, used, and upcycled item.

About the Sewing:
Manufactured in Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan’s largest bag production area. Skilled bag artisans produce this item using materials supplied by companies with their own factories, including YKK zippers. Pattern placement, orientation, and the front-back direction of the obi are decided in Tokyo. Subsequently, molds are created in a dedicated factory, which then cut the fabric according to these molds and sew the pieces together.
Kimono and obi fabrics vary in embroidery, weaving, thickness, and texture, making each piece unique and sometimes challenging to sew even for experienced artisans.
In Toyooka, traditional craftsmanship is inherited from the technique of making woven baskets (kago) from willow, as described in the Kojiki. Under strict quality control developed over a thousand years, the product is carefully crafted.

Fabric: The kimono, obi, and obi cords used are previously worn or stored items. Therefore, there may be creases, small stains, dirt, scratches, or deterioration. While efforts are made to exclude these imperfections, some may remain. Please understand that this product is a recycled, upcycled item from older materials.

Color:
While every effort is made to display accurate colors, differences may occur between the photos and the actual product due to monitor settings on computers or mobile devices. Please understand this in advance.

Size:
Although cut uniformly with molds and sewn by skilled artisans, the thickness and embroidery of each kimono and obi vary. Thicker obi or heavily embroidered items may result in slight size differences, such as a smaller fit. Please understand this potential variation.

Since the kimono, obi, and obi cords are likely made of silk, but are used and thus uncertain, it is recommended to wash them with silk-specific detergents or consult a professional kimono cleaning service.
Avoid contact with water, rain, sweat, and friction to prevent color fading or transfer.
Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause discoloration and hardening; store in a cool, dark, well-ventilated place away from other items.
