Made without the use of edible oil, Shiroishi Umen (U-men), a famous noodle from Miyagi, is characterized by its short length of 9 centimeters. This series allows you to enjoy Shiroishi Umen easily with your preferred sauce. This version features Sendai miso flavor.
The soup uses Takasago's flavor, Longevity Miso, providing a rich and savory taste. It is also very popular as a souvenir from Miyagi.

Origin of the Famous Miyagi Noodle "Shiroishi Umen (U-men)"
Approximately 400 years ago, in the southern fortress town of Shiroishi Castle, part of the Sendai Domain ruled by Date Masamune, there was a man named Suzuki Eiemon. His father suffered from a stomach illness and had to fast for several days. One day, he met a traveling monk who taught him a method of making hand-stretched noodles without using oil. He made these noodles, recommended them to his father, and after eating, his father's stomach ailment was instantly cured. The lord of Shiroishi Castle, Katakura Kojuro, appreciated this warm story of filial piety and kindness, and named the noodles "Onmen (U-ment)." Suzuki Eiemon spread the method of making these warm noodles among the people of Shiroishi Castle, and they are now widely known throughout Japan as a specialty noodle from Miyagi and Shiroishi.
Reflecting on the filial piety stories of Michinoku during the Edo period, enjoy the light, oil-free flavor, firm texture, and smooth mouthfeel of these noodles.
