The origin of the bath bucket is related to hygiene concerns; during the period when bath buckets at public baths shifted from wood to synthetic resin, it was decided that advertisements using bath buckets would be seen by many people, and the first was placed at Tokyo Onsen (Tokyo Station Yaesu Exit).
This was well received, and Kerorin buckets spread to public baths, hot springs, golf courses, and other bathing facilities nationwide.
Since then, over 2.5 million units have been supplied.
Currently, deliveries continue at a pace of 40,000 to 50,000 units per year.
The Kerorin bucket in the Kansai style is a bath bucket measuring "φ21cm x H10cm" and weighing 260g; the Kanto style is "φ22.5cm x H11.5cm" and weighs 360g.
