Point the camera toward the sun at 90°

To enhance color contrast in landscapes with blue skies, the position of the sun is crucial. The most effective angles are perpendicular to the line connecting the photographer and the subject, on the left and right sides of the sky.

Less effective during backlit or cloudy conditions.

When attaching a PL filter to an ultra-wide-angle lens to photograph the sky, uneven blue sky or areas where the sky does not turn blue may appear, resulting in a mottled sky. To avoid polarization unevenness, change your shooting position or use the PL effect more mildly.

Shoot at an angle of 30° to 40° relative to the water surface

To remove reflections from water, glass, or leaves, shooting from an oblique angle is effective. The most effective is at 30° to 40° relative to the surface.

Shooting directly from the front or reflections from metal surfaces are unaffected.
