★The orchestra 'Tokyo Juventus Philharmonic' was formed mainly by high school and university students from Keio University in 2008. Now, members include working adults outside of Keio alumni, with a wide age range, and it is widely known as a distinguished group that delivers fulfilling performances at each concert. The 'Symphony of a Thousand' concert held in 2018 as a 10th anniversary celebration was a big topic (available as ALTL-012).★This album features a live recording from March 2019. First, the newly rising violinist Mayuko Ishikami performs 'Tzigane.' This piece was also performed with her at 'La Folle Journée Tokyo 2019,' and it is a performance worth listening to again on CD. The coupling piece is the passionate 'Fate' by Juventus Philharmonic, which has entered a new era! Expect stunning performances of this classic masterpiece, all conducted with the powerful baton of the master conductor Kenjiro Sakai.

Kenjiro SakaiBorn May 12, 1988, from Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Graduated from Keio University Faculty of Economics.He studied conducting under Michi Inoue, Ken-ichiro Kobayashi, Masanori Mikawa, and Nanao Yamamoto. He also studied cello with Naoya Mochizuki. He has close ties with Vladimir Fedoseyev, music director of the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Yoshiyuki Inoue, former music director of the Armenian National Radio Symphony Orchestra, receiving conducting advice and serving as an assistant.He first conducted at age 13, and in March 2007, successfully conducted a concert featuring Tchaikovsky's 'Symphony No. 4' at Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, praised in Gekkan Ongaku (Music Monthly) May 2007 for creating a climax and delivering an intense performance, showing the makings of a future master.In 2008, he formed the Tokyo Juventus Philharmonic and has served as its music director ever since. He has collaborated with world-renowned soloists such as Jörg Dames, Gérard Pule, and Izumi Tateno, and has conducted many Japanese and world premieres.In January 2015, he received acclaim for conducting Mahler's Symphony No. 2 'Resurrection' at Muza Kawasaki, and in March of the same year, he was appointed as Kawasaki Industry Goodwill Ambassador for the first time as a conductor. In May, he performed at La Folle Journée Japan 'Day of Enthusiasm' music festival, and was also selected as a 'Promising Conductor' in the August 2015 issue of MOSTLY CLASSIC magazine.In 2016, he established the Kawasaki Chamber Orchestra, a new professional orchestra, and became its music director. His activities were featured in the Asahi Shimbun 'Shun' section in December 2016.He has also planned and conducted the continuous performances of Schoenberg's 'Pierrot Lunaire' at Reiko Yuyama's 'Salon de Bakukura!', made his debut with Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra in 2018 conducting Orff's 'Carmina Burana,' and has performed abroad, including guest appearances at the National University of Arts and Culture in Malaysia, premiering new works worldwide.
Mayuko IshikamiStarted violin at age 5, invited to the Rome International Music Festival at age 8. At high school second year, she won 2nd place at the 77th Japan Music Competition, also receiving the Audience Award and E. Nakamiuchi Award. She won 1st place in the string section at the 7th Romania International Music Competition, receiving the Grand Prize and Concerto Debut Award. She placed 4th at the 5th Soji Angel Violin Competition. She won 1st place in the violin section at the 14th Czech Music Competition. In September 2017, she received a special prize at the Bartók Competition. She has appeared on NHK FM's 'Masterpieces Recital' and 'Recital Nova.' Her performances with the Osaka Philharmonic and other orchestras have been broadcast on NHK TV, including documentaries.She has performed with numerous orchestras domestically and internationally, including Tokyo Symphony, Kyoto Symphony, Sendai Philharmonic, Osaka Philharmonic, Brașov National Symphony, Kansai Philharmonic, Tokyo City Philharmonic, Tokyo New City Orchestra, and Central Aichi Symphony. She also performs in Europe and is active as a soloist and as a member of the Nagaokakyo Chamber Ensemble and Ensemble Kujo-yama. She studies under Yuko Mori.
