The thermo switch is installed in the lower tank of the radiator or in the cooling water passage.
It plays an important role in controlling the on and off of the electric fan at a set temperature, preventing engine overheating, and maintaining the optimal temperature to prevent engine blowouts.
An electric fan is equipped at the front of the radiator.
The electric fan operates to prevent the cooling water temperature from rising due to engine heat during low-speed driving in traffic jams where airflow to the radiator is reduced, or during hot summer weather.
If the fan thermo switch fails and stops working, the cooling water temperature will become high, leading to overheating and causing failures such as blown head gaskets.
If the water temperature gauge indicates overheating but there is no decrease in cooling water, and the thermostat shows no abnormalities, the electric fan may not be operating.
It is a durable part and is unlikely to break easily, but regular inspection and replacement will ensure peace of mind without trouble.
Genuine parts are costly, so we recommend replacing it early with an affordable aftermarket part equivalent to genuine parts.
