12 Series Passenger Cars, JR West Japan Specification, 6-Car Set, 10-1820 KATO Passenger Cars
■ These are JR West Japan's 12 series passenger cars that retired in 2025. They were once active in combination with C56-160 on the SL Kitabwako train, and were also loaned out to Shikoku and Kyushu. However, due to the end of the Kitabwako train's operation following the retirement of locomotive C56-160 from main line operation (although D51-200 was planned to take over as its successor, it seems that the crucial D51-200 also suffered from continuous breakdowns and did not go well), their operating frequency decreased. Five of the six cars were transferred to Oigawa Railway, and only Oha 12-342 was scrapped.
