The title, written in Japanese, suggests a meaningful meaning, featuring faces covered by a woman's hand with red nails. This work shows a slightly different direction than before. After the goth-style synth programming and the vocals of Kishō and Iizuka in the guitar-less "Blue Pandora Box," there is an immediate transition into the dramatic "silence," which combines classical and metal elements as if blending them. These two songs form the core of "Karma and Labyrinth." In the PV, you can see Kishō with black eye makeup, wearing a black cloak adorned with numerous black feathers, singing. In contrast, the opening theme for the second season of "Kuroko's Basketball," "Hengen Jiyū no Magical Star," features a song recorded as a single, with Kishō's voice not in full condition, so the vocals were re-recorded. This song, the fourth theme song for the rapidly changing anime, is a bright pop-punk with a flowing vocal line. It is a fun song with detailed call-and-response sections intended for live performances. The album's new track "Volcano" is a kayō rock and roll with wordplay by Kishō. The groove of the band, including the vocals, is excellent. The opening theme for the anime "CODE BREAKER," "DARK SHAME," features a positive synth intro reminiscent of Van Halen's "JUMP," with mid-tempo digital rock. Likely influenced by the anime's style, this song has rare dark lyrics and a title, but Kishō's singing voice is powerful and splendid, and the performance is confident, true to GR. The single "The Other Self" includes the coupling song "baby bad boy," which features Kishō's characteristic lyrics and singing, provocative with some explicit content, yet enjoyable. The third opening theme for "Kuroko's Basketball," "The Other Self," is an anime-style encouragement song that supports and encourages listeners. The coupling song "Sakura-iro Dai-ni Button" from the album was originally intended to include the other coupling song "Y・W・F," but since there was no ballad, this was adopted into the album. As the title suggests, it is a song for graduation season, reflecting on the past, tailored for adults. The opening theme for the anime "Carnival," "Hengen Jiyū no Rondo," features a three-beat part as indicated by "Rondo" in the title, with irregular arrangements and song developments scattered throughout, creating a dramatic and heavy track. As it is aimed at a female audience, the sexual language choices stand out. The coupling song "Zettō Poison" from "Hengen Jiyū no Magical Star," inspired by Snow White, provokes the passive princess, with clever idiomatic lyrics, in a jazz arrangement that is a comfortable rock and roll. "Pink Phantom," which sings the despair after a sleepless night, and "Wonder Color," a funky number reminiscent of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, are playful songs with jazz arrangements. These feature swirling bass, light piano, and distinctive chorus. Kishō's lyrics include social satire and introspection about his current feelings. I think the lyrics are positive and typical of him, not heavy, with the phrase "Even if I am stained gray, that's still life." The final track, "DAWN GATE," is a complete version of the coupling song from the single "The Other Self." It features a grand synth intro reminiscent of classical music, with the performance quieting down and Kishō singing confidently. Several words from previous songs come to mind, and it ends with a sense of continuation rather than conclusion. After the heavy and fast-paced "SUPERNOVA" and "CRACK STAR FLASH," this album takes a different direction, distancing itself from those styles. GR's songs are based on sounds from anime songs and J-pop, as well as 70s-90s hard rock and metal, but this time, the sound feels more vintage, especially in the new recordings, with noticeable rockabilly and rock and roll influences. There is only one ballad, but it is easy to listen to without feeling that, and many songs are fun and danceable, with added twists rather than just pushing with momentum and speed. Although they are now known to the general public, it is good that they did not simply follow pop-punk or emo trends but instead presented a new approach.
