絵本作家・造形作家。1946年山形県鶴岡市生まれ。国学院大学文学部卒業。1996年福島県鏡石町にアトリエを構え、自然と向き合いながら創作を行っている。平成5年/中学の教科書にグリーティングカード作品掲載。『美術1/つくり出す喜び』(日本文教出版株式会社)。ユニセフ年賀カード(2004年・2005年・2007年/干支のデザイン)が日本ユニセフ協会より発売される。主な活動は、絵本原画やグリーティングカードの作品展をはじめ、幼稚園、学校、生涯学習などでの講演や「絵本教室」「造形教室」の指導を行っている(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)
