K.S.K. Type C Tank Locomotive 2001 TOMIX Steam Locomotive
■ In the 5 years I've been in charge, only 3 TOMIX legendary K.S.K. C Tank Locomotives have come through our store. Of those, one was non-operational, and another could only run in reverse. However, this is the third unit overall, and for the first time, I've encountered one that can move forward, albeit with some jerky movement. Similar to the Bachmann OEM C-type shunting diesel locomotive, reverse running is relatively smoother, indicating a similar symptom. Units that can run are rare and this is a valuable item. TOMIX has a strong tendency to re-release past out-of-production models. However, perhaps because small steam locomotives with three-axle driving wheels have difficulties with current collection, they have not re-released this model. The B-tank locomotive provided to a weekly model railroad magazine was a re-molding of Percy. If the Kiha 02 can be revived for modern times, I truly wish the C-tank would also be renewed.

Case is dirty, has scuffs, and hinge is damaged. Operation is OK, but movement is slightly jerky, especially when running forward. Reverse running is relatively smoother.
