This film is based on a story written by Takashi Ichikawa, the original author of "I Now, I Will Come to See You," inspired by the movie "Love Photography: Collage of Our Life" starring Ryoko Hirosue. While the key elements such as the character names, the connections formed through photographs, and the truth revealed in New York are the same as in the Hirosue version, the overall tone is more romantic.

The story follows two university students, Makoto and Shizuru, who become close as if drawn to each other's insecurities. Shizuru shows interest in Makoto's hobby of photography. Eventually, their fates, separated for a time, are united in New York.

The film features a compelling depiction of New York six years later, with scenes of a secret forest shared only by the two characters, creating a beautiful atmosphere. The pairing of Hiroshi Tamaki and Aoi Miyazaki, though somewhat overly handsome for their roles, delivers sincere performances that are well-received.

While some elements, such as the friendship at university, feel somewhat like a TV drama, the narrative builds toward a vivid climax. The story reveals how a single photograph can evoke indescribable emotion, leaving viewers momentarily speechless. Even if the loved one is no longer physically present, they remain together in the heart—this sense of comfort and happiness culminates in a peaceful, lingering ending.
