When bait such as silversides is small, fish eaters often become quite selective, and many factors—such as action, color, and casting distance—must match well; otherwise, bites may not occur. The "Tobii 90" has been refined with meticulous attention to these elements to ensure success.
Basic usage involves skipping. After the lure lands on the water, immediately perform a first retrieve with the rod held upright. This creates an action on the water surface that produces bubbles, mimicking small fish fleeing across the surface.
If no bites occur with this method, adding subtle twitches during the retrieve can be effective.
Additionally, during retrieval, the lure swims just below the surface, gently swaying its tail side to side, while during a tension fall, it performs a delicate shimmy fall.
These actions resemble fish escaping from a school of baitfish, making them effective especially when quick actions do not elicit a response.
