Soken-sha Camellia Oil Dressing, Japanese Style
This Japanese-style dressing contains Awaji Island onions, rich-flavored black vinegar and apple vinegar, and uses pressed-juice rapeseed oil and camellia oil.
It is based on domestically produced soy sauce made from whole soybeans, and raw sugar derived from sugarcane grown in Kikai Island, Kagoshima Prefecture. The dressing is flavored with the acidity of black vinegar and apple vinegar, and enhanced with dashi made from bonito flakes from Makurazaki.
Camellia oil is an oil that contains omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids.
Using domestically produced soy sauce made from non-GMO soybeans, raw sugar from sugarcane grown in Kikai Island, Kagoshima Prefecture, and bonito dashi from Makurazaki, it is finished with a rich flavor.
It has a slightly spicy flavor with ginger and chili peppers, creating an adult Japanese taste.
◆ Uses pressed-juice camellia oil
The camellia oil used has a good balance of omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids. Compared to flaxseed oil and perilla oil, which contain omega-3, it can also be used for heating cooking.
The dietary intake guideline for n-3 fatty acids (omega-3) for Japanese men aged 30-49 is approximately 2g, and for women, 1.6g, as of 2020.
One tablespoon of this dressing contains approximately 0.3g of alpha-linolenic acid and 0.8g of oleic acid.
