Place the candle on a candlestick, and when lighting, use matches or a lighter.
Japanese-style candles, after ignition, the wick remains after burning. Please remove the blackened residual wick with wick scissors or fire tongs. When trimming the wick, leave the original length before cutting. Cutting it too short may cause excessive wax to drip. Also, be careful that the trimmed wick does not fall onto the wax. When the wax liquefies, there is a risk of ignition.
Please use a size of candle that matches the size of the candlestick or altar. Do not use large candles on small altars.
Do not leave the candle unattended after lighting. Do not use near flammable materials or in unstable places.
Always fix the candle straight into a non-flammable holder that fits the hole and length of the candle, and use it so that it is not affected by the wind. Be sure to extinguish the flame before sleeping.
After washing the candlestick, be sure to wipe off moisture thoroughly with a dry cloth before use. When the flame of the candle reacts with a small amount of water, the wick may protrude outside the candlestick. Do not place the candle in the candlestick while it is hot, as it may melt and fall over. Use only after the candlestick has cooled. During burning and immediately after extinguishing, the candle and candlestick are hot, so do not touch them.
Do not use water to extinguish the flame. Do not use near children or pets. In low temperatures or depending on the shape of the candlestick material, residual wax may remain.
Store away from direct sunlight in a cool, dark place. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
