**[Cover] Destroyer DDG-174 "Kirishima," FFM-1 "Mogami"**
**[December] Icebreaker AGB-5003 "Shirase"**An Antarctic observation ship built for the transport and research missions of the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology / National Institute of Polar Research). The ship is operated by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.
**[January] P-1 Patrol Aircraft**A medium-sized aircraft with four turbofan engines developed by Kawasaki Heavy Industries as the successor to the P-3C patrol aircraft. In addition to excellent anti-submarine capabilities, it possesses surface and anti-ship attack capabilities.
**[February] Supply Ship AOE-425 "Mashu"**The first ship of the Mashu-class supply ships. The ship is named after Lake Mashu. Its primary mission is the replenishment of supplies such as fuel, ammunition, food, and aviation fuel required by naval vessels at sea.
**[March] US-2 Rescue Flying Boat**A rescue flying boat that Japan is proud to present to the world. It is capable of landing on rough seas with wave heights of up to 3 meters and is used for life-saving operations in harsh conditions.
**[April] Destroyer DDH-184 "Kaga"**The second ship of the Izumo-class destroyers. It is planned to carry the F-35B, and large-scale modifications have been carried out for the operation of STOVL (Short Take-Off and Vertical Landing) fighter jets.
**[May] SH-60K Patrol Helicopter**A patrol helicopter based on the SH-60J with improved patrol capabilities. Its performance has been enhanced through airframe modifications, such as changes to the fuselage and nose shape, and updates to onboard equipment.
**[June] Submarine SS-516 "Raigei"**The fourth ship of the Taigei-class submarines. It is the world's first class of conventional diesel-powered submarines to adopt lithium-ion battery technology. The name "Raigei" is written in Kanji as "Thunder Whale."
**[July] Destroyer DDG-179 "Maya"**The first ship of the Maya-class destroyers. An advanced model based on the Atago-class with improved equipment and armament capabilities.
**[August] Destroyer FFM-3 "Noshiro"**The third ship of the Mogami-class destroyers. Considered a compact and multi-functional vessel that sets itself apart from conventional destroyers. A new ship type symbol "FFM" was adopted, combining "FF" for frigate with "M" for multi-purpose and mine-laying.
**[September] Landing Craft Air Cushion "LCAC," Destroyer DDG-176 "Chokai"**Because air-cushion craft can land directly from the sea onto sandy beaches, they can maximize their potential in rescue operations and the transport of relief supplies during disasters.
**[October] Destroyer DD-158 "Umigiri"**The eighth ship of the Asagiri-class destroyers. An enlarged and improved version of the Hatsuyuki-class. The ship's name is derived from "fog rising over the sea," or "sea fog."
**[November] Destroyer DDH-183 "Izumo," DD-110 "Takanami"**The first ship of the Izumo-class destroyers (left), currently undergoing large-scale modifications to enable the takeoff and landing of F-35B aircraft, similar to the "Kaga." The first ship of the Takanami-class destroyers (right).
**[December] Destroyer FFM-1 "Mogami," FFM-2 "Kumano"**The first and second ships of the Mogami-class destroyers. Twelve Mogami-class ships are planned by 2027, after which the construction of a new type of FFM is scheduled.
