名作デビュー・アルバムの超希少ピクチャー盤！ロンドンを拠点に活動する音楽プロデューサー／DJ／バンドThexxのメンバーとして、数々の活躍で知られるJamiexxの名作デビュー・アルバム『InColour』は、2015年5月29日にリリースされ、UKダンスカルチャーを万華鏡のように描き出した。このアルバムはリリース当時、瞬く間に“現代のクラシック”と称され、各所から高い評価を受けている。Pitchforkは「クラブを記憶・恍惚・内省の場として再解釈した、まばゆく感情的な作品」としてBestNewMusicに選出。RollingStoneは「ジャンルと時代を見事に融合」と評し、Mixmagは2015年のベストアルバムに、NMEは「現代の傑作」と称賛した。リリース後から現在まで、多数のベストリストに選出され、2010年代の最重要エレクトロニック作品の一つとして地位を確立した。
個人的なUKクラブ・カルチャーへのラブレターを、世界的で世代を象徴する作品へと昇華させたこの作品で、Jamiexxはグラミー賞、ブリット・アワード、アイヴァー・ノヴェロ賞の複数部門にノミネートされ、2016年のマーキュリー・プライズにも選出された。本作のアニバーサリーを記念して、BBC6Musicの番組に出演したJamiexxは、『InColour』10周年特番と最新インタビューに登場。アルバムの構想から制作、リリース後の反響までを語っている。さらに、これまでのインタビューやセッションをまとめたJamiexxアーカイブ・コレクションも公開している。
2024年9月20日に〈Young〉からリリースされた、待望のセカンド・アルバム『InWaves』では、UKアルバムチャートで初登場5位を記録。参加アーティストにはHoneyDijon、JohnGlacier、PandaBear、TheAvalanches、Robyn、OonaDoherty、そしてThexxのバンドメイトであるOliverSimとRomyも名を連ねており、『ISeeYou』（2017年）以来となる3人揃っての音源参加が実現した。NMEは「完璧」、Clashは「傑作」、RollingStoneUKは「純粋な高揚感に到達したアルバム」と称賛。『InColour』から9年、Jamieは感情のクレッシェンドやナイトアウトの魔法のような浮き沈みを再現し、約4年をかけて制作。自己内省、パンデミック、再びストロボライトの中へと戻っていく瞬間、新たに見つけた“サーフィンという逃避行”も織り込まれた本作は、前作に匹敵するほどの完成度を誇る。
本作『InColour』の10周年記念盤は、ワンプレスオンリーの超希少盤となる。今回のリリースは単なるアニバーサリーにとどまらず、Jamiexxという稀有な天才を深く掘り下げる良い機会になるだろう。
