● Based in Chicago, he was active mainly in trios, and his unique sense of rhythm and touch are known to have influenced Miles Davis. In addition, in his later years, he quickly recognized the talent of the then unknown Hiromi Uehara, who was studying at Berklee College of Music, and made her debut with Telarc.
● This reissue focuses on albums from the mid-1950s to early 1960s featuring the trio with the early-deceased genius bassist Israel Crosby.
