One of the most prolific and successful writers of the past 25 years, his gems are classic rock recurrents - someday, someway, the often covered you're my favourite waste of time, cynical girl, mary anne, and there she goes again with another guy. Marshall's title track to the movie 'walk hard, the dewey cox story' was nominated for a grammy award for best song from a movie in 2008.
