Resulting from research and development into the "eating pause," we have created a metal jig that stays in the water and creates an "eating pause" without the need for line slack. Previously, it was difficult to create an "eating pause" with the slim silhouette of a typical anchovy, as it would pass through the water too quickly. With the Stay Fall, a recess is created on the side of the jig to catch water, allowing it to momentarily stay in the water. The slightly rearward balance of the center of gravity ensures casting distance and allows for stress-free casting. Furthermore, by catching water across the entire recessed area, a horizontal fall is achieved.
The "Black Panther Jerk" is what I use most frequently during jerking and has produced the best results. Repeat 3 jerks (and 3 reel turns) followed by a fall. This method involves attracting fish with the jerk and getting them to bite during the fall. While it sounds simple, when entering the fall, the rod tip is momentarily lowered to intentionally create line slack. This maximizes the jig's natural action and leads to a bite.
