Characters written with water do not disappear even after drying (Patented). While "conventional water-writing paper" disappears when dry, characters written on this product remain after drying.Since the work can be preserved, it is possible to save or display it.
You can enjoy Japanese calligraphy (Shuji/Shodo) using only a brush and water. There is no need to worry about staining clothes or rooms with ink.Cleanup is easy as the brush does not harden after use.
This product has been featured in various media outlets, including NHK's "Asaichi" and "Watch 9," TV Asahi's "Hakase-chan," Nippon TV's "ZIP!", Kansai TV's "Saturday What!?", and Yomiuri TV's "Osaka Honwaka TV."
* 32nd Japan Stationery Prize (2023)* 19th Kids Design Award (2025)
The ink on the surface reacts to moisture from fingers, so margins have been provided. Please hold the paper by the margins. Additionally, by placing the wide margin toward you (at the bottom) while writing, you can hold the paper firmly without getting your hands dirty.
Although no substances harmful to the human body are used, if ink gets on your hands, please wash it off with soap (warm water works better than cold water). Do not touch your mouth or eyes while ink is on your hands.
"Mizu-Shuji" (Water Calligraphy) is our registered trademark.
**Target Audience**We recommend this product for calligraphy beginners, lower elementary school students, the elderly, foreigners, and anyone who feels hesitant about using traditional liquid ink.
**Recommended Usage**We envision users practicing extensively on conventional "disappearing" water-writing paper first, and then using one sheet of this "Water Calligraphy Paper" for their final piece.You can complete a preserved work using only water from start to finish, contributing to SDGs by reducing the waste of liquid ink and traditional calligraphy paper.
