Il Bisonte is a brand centered on bags, founded by Wani Diphilipo in Venice, Italy. In addition to bags, it handles accessories such as wallets, key holders, key cases, business card holders, notebooks, and pen cases.

Based on a basic design, the bags are very durable, and as you use them, the leather becomes softer, the color changes, and they develop a unique character. The design is not particularly distinctive, so it does not choose people. Rather, it gives the impression of changing to suit the person carrying it.

As the brand concept explained by Wani Diphilipo: "When it rains, both get wet; when it’s sunny, both are exposed to the sun; if you get a suntan, the bag also tans. Your Il Bisonte becomes a part of you" (from the official website).

Wani Diphilipo was born in Venice, Italy, in 1945. He initially sold car parts but learned art through correspondence courses and other means. He learned leather craft at a bag factory of a relative of his wife, applying unique designs and attaching a buffalo mark. Fascinated by the powerful and proud image of Bisonte (buffalo), he uses the buffalo mark as a signature of his work.

In 1970, he opened a small leather goods shop in Florence, selling bags and belts in the basement upon order. Eventually, it caught the attention of American buyers and gradually expanded worldwide. In 1990, he established the current larger store on the same Parione street.

Today, shops are opened in major cities around the world, including Florence, Rome, and New York.
