Il Bisonte is a brand centered on bags, founded by Wani Diphilipo in Venice, Italy. In addition to bags, it handles accessories such as wallets, key holders, key cases, business card holders, notebooks, and pen cases.

Based on a basic design, the bags are highly durable, and with each use, the leather becomes softer, the color changes, and a character develops. The design is not particularly unique, so it does not choose people. Rather, it is an impression that the bag changes to suit the person carrying it.

As a brand concept spoken by Wani Diphilipo: "When it rains, both get wet; when it’s sunny, both are exposed to sunlight; if you get a suntan, the bag also tans. Your Il Bisonte becomes a part of you" (from the official website).

Wani Diphilipo was born in Venice, Italy, in 1945. He sold car parts but learned art through correspondence courses and other means. He learned leather craft at a bag factory of a relative of his wife, applying unique designs and attaching a buffalo mark. Fascinated by the powerful and proud image of Bisonte (buffalo), he uses the buffalo mark as a signature of his work.

In 1970, he opened a small leather goods shop in Florence, selling bags and belts in a basement upon order. Eventually, he caught the attention of American buyers and gradually expanded worldwide. In 1990, he established the current larger store on the same Parione street.

Today, shops are expanded in major cities around the world, including Florence, Rome, and New York.
