The debut album from IceChoir, synth-pop by Kurt of The Pain of Being Pure at Heart! IceChoir is a new project led by Kurt Feldman (The Pain of Being Pure at Heart / ex-The Depreciation Guild). This long-awaited debut album, "Afar," further pursues the synth-pop sensibilities of Gangway, Prefab Sprout, and YMO, which could be felt in the last album "Spirit Youth" of The Depreciation Guild, which he led! The album is finally complete! It will be released in the US by Underwater Peoples, who also released Tennis, Real Estate, and Dolphins Into The Future, and domestically in Japan on CD by Fastcut.

The album features 9 tracks, including: "I Want You Now And Always," a sparkling synth-pop track that will bring tears to Gangway fans' eyes; "Two Rings," a 7-inch single released as a double A-side by Yesboyicecream (UK) and Shelflife (US); "Teletrips," a superb melody described by Pitchfork as being between Michael Jackson's "Human Nature" and Spandau Ballet's 80s R&B; "Afar," a balearic pop song adorned with colorful synths; and the urban "Peacock In The Tall Grass," which surprisingly features a city-pop sound reminiscent of rare AOR releases. Kurt himself composed and produced the album, with mixing handled by his close friend Jorge Elbrecht of Violens. This is the ultimate synth-pop sound from Brooklyn, produced with a unique sense and potential that sets it apart from other US indie bands.
