Horton is asked by the lazy bird, Maisie, to watch her egg. Reluctantly, he climbs a tree and incubates the egg—through storms, cold winter days, and even until spring arrives. However, poor Horton's troubles don't end there. A delightful picture book by Dr. Seuss, a writer whose works have been read for over 50 years in America and around the world. Winner of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award (1980) and the Pulitzer Prize Special Award (1984).
