『クエスト：永遠の王の物語』は、名作『レジスタンス：アヴァロン』より、クエストメンバーの承認投票を廃すことでプレイをスピーディにしながらも、クエストが3回失敗した後での正義の側による「最後の命綱」による逆転勝利の要素や、新たなキャラクターのクエスト投票制限や能力により投票時の結果の推理がより深くなるなど、大胆なアップデートでより楽しくなった、4-10人でのプレイが可能な正体隠匿型のボードゲームです。人気の「人狼」系のゲームでも画期的な『脱落者のいない司会進行役いらず』のシステムも特徴的です。
プレイヤーはアーサーに仕える「正義」の家来か、「邪悪」のモードレッドの手下になります。毎ラウンド、リーダーはクエストに赴くメンバーを選び、選ばれたメンバーはクエストの成功か失敗に投票し、失敗が1票でも投じられるとそのクエストは失敗に終わります。正義は3つのクエストを成功させるか、3回失敗したのちの最終クエスト中に邪悪を正しく指摘することで勝利します。邪悪は3つのクエストを失敗させ、さらに正義の「最後の命綱」を逃れきれば勝利します。また邪悪は、《盲目の狩人》がいるゲームでは、「狩り」の最中に特定の正義の人物を指摘できれば勝利します。
