この拡張セットにより、人類を絶体絶命の危機に陥れる選択式のチャレンジルールが3つ追加される。1つ目は病原体の1つが猛毒性の病原体に変異する「猛毒株」、2つ目は第5の病原体が発見される「変異種発見」、3つ目はプレイヤーの1人が人類の敵となり世界各地に新種の病原体をばら撒く「バイオ・テロリスト」。他にも5人プレイ用ルール、最高難易度ルール、追加の7つの役割と8枚のイベントカード、病原体コマを収納できるペトリ皿などが入った、パンデミックをとことん楽しめる拡張セットとなっている。
