As shown in the close-up images, there are stains and snap fastener rust marks on the back of the collar and the torso lining,
but otherwise the outer fabric is in very good condition with no particularly noticeable stains or dirt.

In the late Edo period, an order was issued by the Satsuma Domain
to "present an Oshima Tsumugi that best represents Amami Oshima."
When a designer was looking at the garden on a moonlit night, a single golden habu snake
was about to move onto a lush green sago palm leaf, its back pattern sparkling in the moonlight.
It began with the stylization of that moment of mysterious beauty.
Around 1907, this mud-dyed Oshima Tsumugi was named after the village where it was made,
and was called "Tatsugo-gara" (Tatsugo pattern).

It is a very high-quality masterpiece.
