Kurume Kasuri (Kurume ikat) is one of Japan's three major kasuri (ikat) textiles,
and in 1976 (Showa 51), it was designated as a traditional craft product by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, representing cotton fabrics.
Even when simply called kasuri, the process until the product is made involves about 30 steps, including tying, dyeing, and weaving.
The origin of the word "kasuri" is said to come from the fact that, when the fabric is woven,
the pattern appears blurred or faded, which is how it got its name.
The greatest feature of Kurume Kasuri is the technique of combining warp and weft threads to
express complex patterns.
The beauty and unique texture of kasuri are created by skilled artisans.
The more you use it, the more it develops character and becomes comfortable material.
It is a very high-quality item.
We are offering it at a low price, so please take this opportunity.
