The authentic Chikuzen Hakata Ori,
produced in Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is a silk textile.
It features a geometric pattern based on the trident and flower dish, which are Buddhist ritual implements.
Since Chikuzen lord Kuroda Nagamasa presented it to the shogunate during the Edo period,
it is also called Hakata Presentation or Presentation Hakata.
It is woven with a technique called 'okiba-ori,' which makes the horizontal ridges stand out.
Because it uses 30 to 60 thin weft threads, it has firmness and resilience,
a stiff texture, and a glossy appearance.
It is said to be a tightly woven, durable, and easy-to-tie obi.
This is a very high-quality item.
