Honba Chikuzen Hakata-ori is a silk textile produced in and around Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
Geometric patterns based on the Dokko and Kasara, which are Buddhist ritual implements, are woven into it.
It is also called Hakata Kenjo or Kenjo Hakata, as it was presented to the Shogunate by Nagamasa Kuroda, the lord of the Chikuzen domain during the Edo period.
It is woven using a warp-faced twill weave, where the warp threads wrap around the weft threads, so only the warp threads appear on the surface, and the horizontal ribs stand out.
Because it uses 30 to 60 fine warp threads, it has stiffness and firmness, a hard texture, and a lustrous feel.
It is said to be an obi that ties securely, is difficult to come undone, and is easy to tie.
This is a truly high-quality masterpiece.
We are listing it at a low price, so please take this opportunity to consider it.
