Chinen family was one of the Bingata three houses serving the Ryukyu royal aristocracy.
They have passed down the tradition of Ryukyu Bingata as the main house of Ryukyu Bingata for generations up to today.
Ryukyu Bingata was born and raised in Okinawa,
and despite facing multiple crises of decline, it continues to bring in new influences,
incorporating new sensibilities while also maintaining the unique atmosphere of Ryukyu.
Bingata, dyed with vibrant colors based on red, yellow, blue, green, and purple,
receives sunlight, causing the vivid patterns to stand out vividly.
Bingata originated as a formal dress for women, mainly used in the Ryukyu royal court, Shuri, and Urasoe,
and was dyed using a stencil technique as traditional clothing for religious ceremonies.
It is said that this is the origin of Ryukyu Bingata.
Later, through overseas trade in the 14th to 15th centuries with China and Southeast Asia,
techniques from Chinese printed fabric and dyeing methods from India and Java were introduced.
Eventually, nurtured by Okinawa's climate, natural environment, and culture,
a unique Okinawan Bingata was born.
This is a very high-quality, exquisite piece.
We are offering it at a low price, so please take this opportunity.
The box is partially damaged, but there is no problem with the product.
We strive to photograph as close to the actual color as possible, but there may be rare differences.
