This phrase is the credo of Rakufurin, which has been upheld since its founding.
Founder Take Horie, through interactions with many cultural figures such as Masako Shirasu, Kanjiro Kawai, and Shiko Munakata,
sharpened his aesthetic sense and traveled around the world at a time when overseas travel was still rare.
He collected and studied textiles and crafts from all over the world, past and present, and
incorporated the images he felt from them into the making of obi belts.
The obi belts created by Rakufurin, which were crafted through this process, have a charm that makes kimono wearers think, "I want to try wearing it at least once."
The belts are made with a sense of beauty and craftsmanship that has been passed down since 1923, when founder Take Horie began training at the Nishijin obi fabric wholesaler "Miyake Kiyomise."
In 1952, the company adopted the name "Rakufurin" and started producing craft obi fabrics.
In 1963, Kyoto Shoin published a special edition of "Beauty and Crafts" titled "Rakufurin."

In 1966, Kyoto Shoin published another special edition, "Rakufurin (Second Issue)."
In 1977, Tetsuo Horie, the eldest son of Take Horie, became president.
In 1980, "Craft Obi Belt Rakufurin Selected 100" was published.
In 2011, Reiko Horie, the eldest daughter of Tetsuo Horie, became president.
For the production of obi fabric, the company does not own its own looms, but instead commissions weaving from loom operators called Rakufurin members, mainly in Nishijin.
Rakufurin members (weaving loom operators) include: Wushikoshi Sango, Katsuyama Minoru, Katsuyama Yoshio, Takao Hiro, Ushikubo Nobuko,
Yamashiro Zenzō, Yagi Seiji, Endō Masajirō, Kitamura Takashi,

Kimura Tokujū (Obi shop Sagematsu), Mikami Yoshiyoshi, Minami Akiyuki, Minami Sadao,
Miyajima Isamu, Mōgi Isao, Shimizu Jinosuke, Shimizu Shigeo, Hirose Kenji.

This system continues to be inherited unchanged to this day.
