Honma Chikuzen Hakata Ori is a silk fabric produced in Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and its surroundings.
It features a geometric pattern based on the trident, a Buddhist ritual implement, and a flower dish.
Since Chikuzen domain lord Nagamasa Kuroda, who was in power during the Edo period, presented it to the shogunate,
it is also called Hakata Presentation or Presentation Hakata.
The warp threads wrap around the weft threads, with only the warp threads visible on the surface,
creating a weaving called 'okune-ori' where horizontal ridges stand out.
Using 30 to 60 thin warp threads, it has firmness and stiffness, a firm texture, and a glossy appearance.
It is said to be a belt that is properly tight, difficult to loosen, and easy to tie.
