Honma Chikuzen Hakata Ori is a silk fabric produced in Hakata Ward, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
It features a geometric pattern based on the trident and flower dish, which are Buddhist ritual items.
Since Chikuzen domain lord Nagamasa Kuroda, who was a lord during the Edo period, made it a gift to the shogunate,
it is also called Hakata gift or gift Hakata.
The warp threads wrap around the weft threads, with only the warp threads visible on the surface,
creating a weaving called 'okane-une' where horizontal ridges stand out.
Using 30 to 60 thin warp threads, it has firmness and stiffness, a hard texture, and a glossy appearance.
It is said to be a belt that is properly tightened, difficult to loosen, and easy to tie.
